On Dogtography
From time to time, we get questions about camera gear, photography techinques, or photo tips and tricks. Here is where you will find our most useful bits of the very limited wisdom that we have collected over the years in photo classes and practice. We are envisioning a trilogy of short essays, but can’t promise. Check back in coming weeks as we add more bits and pieces.
Coming soon:
2. Camera gear
3. Post-processing

ADORABLE. That Chick is a really handsome fellow!
Thanks for the great tips … they are very helpful. Can’t wait to read about your gear and post-processing in an effort to build on my extremely novice efforts. Your photos are really spectacular!
i absolutely adore your blog! what camera do you have?
Thank you! I use a Nikon D300, but any DSLR can produce great photos these day . . .
what kind of lens do you use??
Mostly a Sigma 30mm/f1.4 and a Nikon 50mm f1.8.
Thanks for sharing!
One more question! What kind of photo editing software do you use? Thanks in advance! Love your blog!
I use Adobe lightroom for some very light processing, but not much.
That is a great example!
Eagerly waiting some more dogtography posts!
Came across your blog for the first time today! You are a blesssing and such a life saver to all these babies! My husband and I do photography as well, and have a soft spot for pit bulls. We just adore them and the kind of unending, unique love that they give. Thank you for all the work you do. We will continue to follow your work. You ROCK!
nice composition….works a treat 😉
What a handsome guy!
I love this section! Do you have any tips when metering off of a dog? They are so wiggly that I feel like it is sometimes really hard to meter and get the right exposure.
Beautiful photos!
