As long-term blog-readers know, our own loverboy Chick is a patient, wise, and gentle soul, but he does not like fostering as much as we humans do. Still, he puts up with it and the other dogs we bring into the house.
On the other hand, Gonzo’s attitude couldn’t be more different. He looks at the world with an attitude that says “Let’s Party!” He is always trying to play with Chick or at least be near him, and while Chick is reluctant, he is starting to warm up a little, as you can see below.
So we ask of you: what kind of narrative is going on between these two in the following series?

So cute! Chick is giving into Gonzo’s charm. And I didn’t know Gonzo had a big adorable spot on his butt! LOL! SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gonzo: C’mon dude,you know you wanna get closer. No, closer. No, Closer. See, now we’re talkin’!
I’m with Dave, I love the spot on Gonzo’s butt! I don’t remember seeing that before!
I guess Chick is saying, “Some bed is better than no bed!”
I’m with Dave…I had no idea Gonzo had such a cute marking on his behind!
you guys are so silly! check out the spot on the post about separation anxiety from last week! his spot is right there in the photo!
Truth be known I think Chick was trying to take over that “obviously” more comfie pillow. Gonzo wasn’t budging so they shared! The pictures are adorable!
that’s probably right. i love the first photo, in which chick is pretending that he isn’t trying to share, and the third one, in which he’s looking like he was just caught doing something embarrassing!
Chick: “I’m da boss and this is my bed. But if you’re nice, I’ll let you share.”
Gonzo: “Ahh the big pillow is so nice and fluffy”
Chick: “Stupid baby gets all the good stuff”
Gonzo: “Umm, Chick. . .I’m sorry if you feel left out and stuff”
Chick: “Whatever, the humans NEVER consult me, I’m just a dog. . .if I only had thumbs.”
Chick; “Crap!! Mom caught me with the baby! Ummm I don’t know how I got here”
Gonzo: drooling “what? Oh that camera thingy again”
Gonzo: “Ahh, Chick your tummy warms my butt”
Chick: “Whatever kid”
hahaha artie, you are cracking me up!
also: i would like to note that the red pillow (on which chick was originally laying) is the new pillow, and therefore much more highly coveted. this makes it extra amusing that both dogs ended up on the old, smooshed, brown pillow!
Awww. Chick is coming around and warming up. Love Chick’s face in the third picture.
So cute. Looks like they both agreed they could share the pillow so they could sleep.

love it! chick is clearly showing that he can have both pillows if he wants them, and gonzo is clearly showing he doesn’t care what chick’s motivations are. he’s going to misinterpret them and pretend like they are sharing, two peas in a pod.
Chick:
1. Why is this annoying kid on my bed?
2. Maybe if I just slowly…
3. Wedge myself on to the bed…
4. And then streeeetch out like this, he’ll MOVE.
Gonzo:
He likes me! He really likes me!

I think Chick was hoping you wouldn’t capture his momentary softening with the camera. He has hid “I’m above it” appearances to keep up, after all. On the other hand, a furry rear end is the best way to warm your belly – I know, I’ve done the research!
