It occurred to us that although Gonzo is from the metro area of the great District of Columbia, it’s possible that he has never been there for a proper visit. Has he ever seen the Lincoln Memorial? The reflecting pool? The White House? We have no idea.
Sunday was beautiful, so we went downtown for a stroll, taking in the cherry blossoms and many, many, many throngs of tourists. Gonzo loved the cherry blossoms and tourists, and the cherry blossoms and tourists loved him. More on this later, but for today, just this photo that Gonzo insisted we take, after we saw several families putting their infants through this same sort of ordeal:

I was there sunday too! saw lots of dogs but did not see you… bummer. Turned into a nice day. No doubt you got many more photos. I bet he was a hit. Wish I could have brought luna on metro she would have enjoyed walking around.
Take care

What a fun day!!
Perfect day to meet some friends. Does Metro allow dogs?! You must have driven? Where did you park? I lived in DC and worked (conveniently for runs) on 15th and H.
Gorgeous!
Did Gonzo love the tourists more or did the tourists love Gonzo more? Either way it’s a win-win situation. Can’t wait to hear all about it.
Lovely photo!
I would say they loved him more. He likes people, but is a little bit of an introvert. After about 30 minutes of showing himself off, he is ready to crawl into mama’s lap and take a little nap. But still, he was a big hit and got lots of interest!
I love the baby with blossoms shot! awesome.
Ha ha ha, yes it certainly *looks* like Gonzo insisted that picture just had to be taken! It exactly the kind of shot Koly is always trying to stage. LOL, it’s adorable no matter whose idea it was.
Love Gonzo’s glamor shots!
That’s pretty cute. I haven’t seen the Cherry Blossoms since I was a kid, I should really do more “touristy” stuff like this. Did Chick join Gonzo on this outing?
the blossoms complement his freckly ears 🙂
Gonzo blends right in with those cherry blossoms. He’s a real beauty.
Awww! Such a great picture!
I love how he matches the cherry blossoms, and I love that he is doing the ‘baby’ pose. I used to take Wilma out on the town a lot so she could meet people and some potential adopters. Interested to hear your follow-up.
Would you adopt me and take me to see the cherry blossoms? I’ve always wanted to go! (Okay, I’m not a cute pup with over-sized ears or looking for a new companion-person… but everyone needs to see the cherry blossoms!)
Adorable!
What a Most Amazing and Exciting Adventure you all had! I can understand why Gonzo was so pooped. That was a whole lotta seein’ and doin’. I luvs that everybuddy was so happy to meets and greets da boys. But why wouldn’t they? Gonzo and Chick are ROCK STARS!
Wiggles & Wags,
Mayzie
Aw I was also there on Sunday with my lovable pit bull. I also think she has a little bunny in her and I would have loved for Leche to meet Gonzo Bunny Ears. Regardless of their missed connection (perhaps Leche should post on craigs list?) I’m glad that Chick and Gonzo were able to enjoy the amazing day and stretch their paws out.
Betty, can Gonzo see a picture of your Leche??
I would love to but I can’t figure out how to post a picture here (can you?) If not, I can just shoot you a quick email w/ a picture of Leche!
