For dogs who have recently been homeless, I think happiness is as simple as being snuggled in to a friendly, stable home where you are fed, doted on, and given a soft place to sleep. We have been lucky in this aspect with our fosters so far; all of them have settled in fairly quickly, deciding in just a few days that they feel safe and comfortable, and that they do in fact like us. It took Lollie about a week, and Gonzo was nearly instant.
TANK, our newest little marshmallow of a foster, is in the running for second fastest of a very fast group. He has been with us five days and already, he follows us wherever we go, gazes at us with
love desparation while we’re cooking, and loves wiggling his way into our laps to cuddle lick us until we’re covered in slobber.
And we’re seeing more and more of his winning, winning smile (which may or may not be related to the recent heat wave).
Glad he is settling in so well… this heat wave can go to florida for all I care, especially when it pretty much is crippling out by 9AM.. leaves me very little time to train all these dogs, which ends up in longer work days. Lovely photos of him once again. Is that your house in the BG? Wish I had such nice photos of me and the dogs, maybe I will make my husband take a photog class… (ha!)
There’s no place like home. And dogs need a pack to belong to. It’s also a testament to you & your family that these kiddos integrate so well!
Ha! I was driving around running errands and thought: what is that noise? It was Morgan panting in the back seat! I hadn’t heard him pant in like……5 months! Sweet smushed up face needed some air!
He is such a handsome, handsome boy Aleksandra!! And I love the smile ( I think the same when our little one smiles sometimes… I think it’s most likely the heat but I’ll take it hahaha)
Hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend! I’m so looking forward to your new adventures with Tank 🙂
Its amazing what a little love can do. 🙂 He is so cute!!
He is gorgeus!!!!!!!!!! I firmly believe that it is a smile and not the heat! If it were just the heat, he wouldn’t look so happy! Mine does the same thing.
TANK just oozes love and friendship and happiness. He looks like he’s thinking very deep thoughts.
I just love how he’s looking at you; it reminds me so much of how Mr. B looks at E. Some good things about a heat wave are that you do get very happy dogs, and they’re always less excitable.
Great pictures Aleksandra! What a lovebug, and a handsome lovebug at that.
His eyes are mesmerizing.
Oh, that face! That smile, those eyes. TANK’s a wise soul: he knows the simple pleasures bring the greatest happiness.
On another note: I love your dress.
He has the most gorgeous smile, but it’s the twinkle in his eyes that captivates. Daring you to get closer. Just a little closer, then…
Look at tht adoring gaze! You have clearly captured his heart!
TANK is so awesome, loving that pic of the two of you!
It’s great that he bonds so quickly – makes for a happy dog! 🙂
This is so precious. Also, cute dress!
TANK knows a good thing when he sees it. All anyone (two legged or four legged) wants is to be loved, cared for and nurtured. And he has found that with you. He is one handsome dog! And I think he’s smiling!!
TANK! Your eyes are melting pools of caramel. ❤
How awesome that he fits in so well so fast! He looks like such a charmer. 🙂
That is one gorgeous dog. I’m going to miss Gonzo hearing about Gonzo and his notorious ears but it’s great he found the perfect home.
