It was the doggie prom at our house this weekend, and both Stevie Wonder and Sir Chick got to go. They got special prom outfits that fostermom picked up at the thrift store for them — a sparkly sequined Hello Kitty skirt for Miss Stevie, and a blue paisley tie for Sir Chick.
Unfortunately, we didn’t give them adequate time to find dates, so they ended up having to go with each other. This did NOT make them happy.
Even though they were initially reluctant to be each other’s date, they agreed to go since they both love to party in general and dance in particular.
At the end of the evening, both were quite pooped and fell asleep still wearing their party clothes.

I almost bought Ginger a hot pink tutu from a vintage store this weekend!! Ginger and Stevie could have been twinsies!!! When do we get to hear about her OTHER date this weekend? 🙂
This is a riot! How cute are they?! Chick may not have been too excited about going with Stevie, but we know Stevie has a crush on Chick so she was super happy to go in her pretty skirt. I especially love the last photo with Stevie resting her head on Chick’s leg. Just noticed that Chick’s tie is a clip-on!! That is retro!
Ha ha! I’d have loved to watch that photo shoot. It must have been grueling for the dogs to nap out during it! Chick looks so handsome in that tie. I think he might need to wear one all the time.
Stevie looks ready to salsa! I love the part where they both fell asleep in the same pose. Does this mimicking mean Chick is becoming more accepting of his little foster sis?
And on a photography related question…what are your tips for photographing dark-faced dogs? I’ve had a hard time getting good expressions from the black and brindle colored dogs in our rescue.

Love it! Too bad they weren’t thrilled about being each other’s dates. Our local shelter always puts their pitties in ridiculous outfits and hats for various events. Helps their goofy and lovable personality really come through!
